10 Wedding Favor Gifts Guest Won't Forget

Many brides and grooms choose to offer a small wedding favor gift for guests at the end of the wedding. These gifts are traditionally left on the table at each place setting, or they are placed near the exit for guests to grab as they leave. This is not a requirement, but it is a nice gesture to say, “Thank you for being part of such an important day in our lives.”

We see a lot of thank you gifts at Royal Affairs Ballroom. Here are some examples of useful and fun ideas that your guests will love and use. We have broken them down into two categories: food items and non-food items. Both are quite popular. The idea is to give something that is useful; otherwise, your gift will end up in the junk drawer or the trash.

If you take a minute to search various boards on the Internet, you’ll find that many gifts get thrown away or left behind. Even gifts that have dates or names on them will be left behind at the end of a great, long party. Pick something that will be useful to most people so that money is not wasted. It’s sad to see any items forgotten at the end of a big celebration. Most guests don’t forget items that are consumable in some way.

Here are our favorite foods and food-related items that guests love!

Food Items:

Coffee Beans (Etsy)

This is a simple and thoughtful gift. Select customized bags from Etsy or Amazon and fill them with your favorite coffee beans. Now that HEB is in North Texas, Texas Pecan coffee has become a favorite. Purchase the beans, fill the bags, and your guests will enjoy a coffee treat after your wedding. Pre-filled bags are available on Etsy as well.

Personalized Cookies (Irene’s Bakery)

Our favorite baker, Irene’s Bakery, offers the most beautiful, custom cookies. Add them to your cake order for a sweet treat to eat on the drive home after the wedding.

Treat Bags for After the Wedding (Etsy)

Another favorite that can easily be DIY is a “His/Hers” bag of candy for after the wedding. The groom picks his favorite, and the bride picks hers. Guests can choose either for the car ride home. This is also an option that can be purchased ready to go, using the link above.

Seasoned Salt (Recipe)

Does your aunt make the best seasoned salt? Purchase some small jars or packets on Etsy or Amazon and ask Aunt Jane to make a big batch of seasoned salt. This is the perfect way to add some flavor to your wedding reception, no pun intended.

Homemade Jam (Recipe)

Grandmother’s 5-star apricot-jalapeño jam is a hit. Be sure to send guests home with their very own jar to enjoy. Jars are available on Etsy, Amazon, and at local craft stores. Edible items are not often left behind, especially if this jam was available on the appetizer table during the reception. Guests are sure to want more!

Now, let’s look at non-food items. These can be useful too. Here are some suggestions everyone enjoys.

Non-Food Items:

Matchbox matches  (Etsy)

Matchbox stick matches are a life necessity, and everyone will use them. The boxed ones are best!

Playing Cards (Zazzle)

Playing cards are fun to customize and give because most people enjoy card games. These tend to be a hit among wedding or party favors.

Scratch-Off Lottery Tickets  (Texas Lottery)

Scratch-off lottery tickets are cheap. Purchase tickets for as little as $1 per ticket and slip them into a cute bag for guests to grab on the way home. Everyone could win something, even if it’s small.

$5 Coffee Shop Cards  (The Perc)

By the time you purchase the customized gift item, you’ve spent about $5 per person. Head over to your favorite coffee shop (we love The Perc), and grab $5 gift cards to hand out to guests throughout the night. This is a really nice treat for both the small business and the guests! Everyone loves a free cup of coffee.

Photo Booth Photos   (DTX Photobooth)

Hire a photo booth so guests can take pictures all night. The photos become their party favor. This is a fun way to thank guests and provides a memorable experience for all attendees.

Whatever you decide to do, keep in mind that thank-you gifts are not required. They are a nice touch, but not necessary. If it fits your budget to do it, find something you love that guests will also love. At Royal Affairs Ballroom, we see so many great ideas at all of our special events. We love to share those here so you can see them, too.
