18 Fun Ideas to Make Your Event Special

Planning a celebration is fun and exciting! It begins with date selection and then invitations. Planning every detail makes a party special, but it can also produce stress. We work hard to ensure that our clients enjoy the planning process and that it doesn’t overwhelm them.

Whether the event is a wedding, reception, milestone birthday, or anniversary party, little details make the event unique to each individual. Details reflect the love and care for people invited to celebrate life's big moment. One of the joys of working with special events at Royal Affairs is seeing the many unique details that clients include to take their event over the top. Let’s look at some of the most fun details to include in planning a big party that you can incorporate into yours today!

  1. “It’s MINT to be.” Mints for guests to enjoy throughout the night.

  2. Cake balls to go. Mini-desserts are always a great idea.

  3. Midnight snack. Send guests home with a treat to enjoy after dancing the night away!

  4. A neon sign personalized for the wedding is used as a photo backdrop.

  5. Serve a local fan favorite. Hurt’s Donuts, anyone?

  6. Personalized wedding day, birthday, and anniversary cookies.

  7. Spectacular seating chart with vintage frames or personal photos of the person who sits…here.

  8. Personalized cocktail napkins are always fun!

  9. Use postcards rather than a guestbook.

  10. Outdoor wedding? Plan to offer small shawls in case of cool weather, or hand fans if it’s still warm.

  11. Offer a Polaroid station with a backdrop and Polaroid cameras. Encourage guests to take a photo and leave it as a guestbook note.

  12. Use photos throughout the space to tell the story of the bride and groom or honored guests.

  13. Is the guest of honor into sports? Think outside the book and use a football, baseball, baseball bat, or basketball as the guestbook.

  14. Add a cotton candy cart!

  15. Incorporate signature cocktails.

  16. Use the numbers associated with the celebration to create a large-scale display of photos. Turning 50? A BIG 5-0 covered in black and white images makes a big statement.

  17. Wedding News Printed Program

  18. Custom Handkerchiefs for wedding favors

These ideas can be used if on a budget. There are ways to be frugal in all of the preparation. Think of ways to make your guests feel special to be part of your big day and use those ideas.

We have seen many guests offer sendoff treats, and it’s a big hit. Most guests at a wedding, birthday, or other celebration get full with dinner and dessert. After dancing the night away, they don’t realize how hungry they are until they prepare to leave. They are excited to see a treat waiting for them to grab as they exit.

Our staff at Royal Affairs loves to see the many creative ways that each client makes their big day special for everyone involved. We would love to work with you on your celebration.
