Party Favors Guests Will Love

When it’s time for a celebration - wedding, quinceañera, anniversary, or birthday - one of the things many people budget for is a party favor. A party favor is just a simple way to say thank you to guests attending and celebrating with you.

Did you know?

Did you know that Google estimates 50-75% of wedding or party favors are left behind? Gasp! That’s a big investment that could have been allocated elsewhere. How do you ensure that guests take advantage of the party favors? It’s important to think of things that are useful, practical, and not necessarily identifiable to a specific party.

Let’s look at some great party favors that guests will love, and cover the ones best excluded from consideration. Keep in mind that favors should be useful, practical, and serve an immediate need. For example, a take-home dessert is perfect at the end of a long night of dancing. The favor needs to be easy to pick up and use. Let’s dive in.

  • Whole or ground coffee beans - Work with a local coffee roaster to find the perfect roast and then buy in bulk to bag it up yourself. You can also ask the coffee roaster to bag it for you. Add some personalized labels so guests will know what it is and how to use it, just in case the lovely aroma of coffee doesn’t give it away. Coffee lovers will flip over this idea!

  • Specially selected tea - Find a tea blend that you love and package loose tea or purchase tea bags. Package them up with two tea bags or enough for two cups, along with a label for your special day. Tea lovers will be delighted.

  • Single-serve dessert - We love the idea of sending guests home with a personal dessert to enjoy before bed or in the morning with coffee. Think of single-serve items like cake, pie, cookies, cinnamon rolls, or brownies. Add a cute label, and you have the perfect, consumable, delicious party favor.

  • Candy bar with bags or containers - If the guest of honor is a candy lover, create a candy bar where guests can bag up their favorite candy items in a to-go bag. This is a fun treat for kids at heart to eat on the way home!

  • Matchbox matches - If you’re into DIY, you can purchase these Diamond matches on Amazon and add some cute, custom labels. This would be simple, cost-effective, and everyone loves matches in boxes.

  • Wine or oil bottle toppers - There are some great bottle toppers that can be used for more than wine. They also have a bottle opening apparatus on the end, so they really are functional and useful. This version from Amazon fits a budget.

  • Luggage tags - Everyone travels at some point. Even if you’re a road traveler, you need a luggage tag. A personalized luggage tag is a useful gift.  You can even use it as a place card holder by putting the guest’s printed name on a card inside the tag. If you’re feeling really adventurous, use it as the napkin ring.

  • Lip balm - Why is it that every time a special event is celebrated, many people find themselves with dry lips? It’s because of alcohol consumption, dehydration, and dancing, generally. A lip balm is the perfect gift to leave for guests, especially if it works really well. They’ll wonder where you found such a luxurious lip balm.

  • Paper fans - These come in handy when brides want an outdoor wedding…in August. They can be custom printed to match your monogram or with the date of your wedding.

Whatever you decide, think ahead to the end of the night when it’s time to clean up. What items will be left behind? In the event that anything is left over, share those items with the vendors and staff. They will appreciate a treat at the end of a long evening. Check out these great blogs for other ideas.
